System can help to reduce people’s expenses

KOTA KINABALU: The system launched with the recognition of the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) with the National Smart Consumer Center (NSCC) responsible for supervision and management is able to help the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the government to reduce people’s expenses.

Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of WeConnect All, Lim Keam Loo, said member registration is the first step to the system before the users are allowed to earn points by paying their water, electricity and phone bills in the system.

“By paying bills, users can collect more points for payment or use to allow users to enjoy the benefits provided in the system involved.

“The points involved can be used to pay bills or exchange coupons, and this system needs to be introduced to relatives or friends to enable everyone to enjoy this facility,” he said during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Consumers’ Choice Award (CCA) ceremony at Magellan Sutera Resort here last Saturday.

Also present during the MoU signing were Political Secretary to State Community Development and People’s Welfare Minister, Jenddy Datuk Sanggau, MTPN president Datuk Paduka Kevy KV Yeo, MTPN vice president Abdul Malik Jamaran, MTPN Sabah president Kevin Lo and NSCC chairman James Yong.

Meanwhile, Abdul Malik said NSCC plays a very important role in overseeing the overall operation, including all business methods.

“NSCC ensures that the business conducted is legal and complies with the law, supervises the smooth operation of the back-end system, normal financial operations, and collects opinions from users.

“Results from the users’ opinions will be presented to various government departments and so on,” he said.

Meanwhile, James said NSCC was established in 2018 to help users to make wise choices and to launch projects to improve their safety.

“The eight main rights and interests of consumers can be protected, and it can also be a channel between the government and consumers to convey the voice of the people.

“NSCC plays a very important role and is responsible for supervision and implementation to ensure that all operations are normal and formal.

“I hope that NSCC can become a trusted smart consumer center in Malaysia in the future to ensure that NSCC can contribute to society and the country,” he said.
