People will continue to support GRS — Redonah

-

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Women chief Datuk Redonah Bahanda is confident that the people will continue to support the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the next election.

She said although the ruling State Government had changed, the people understand that GRS is currently the best party for their future and welfare.

“We are confident that with the experience we possess, we are able to attract the voters to remain with us under the leadership of GRS.

“Our leader, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, has established a party based on the struggle of the state of Sabah. This allows us to more easily fight for our rights here,” she said during the GRS Women Movement Moyog division roadshow in Penampang, here, on Saturday.

Also present were GRS Women Moyog division chief Viola Dompok; assistant secretary Floriska Francis; assistant treasurer Betty Jamit; information head Brinda Aaron, and members of the Gagasan Rakyat Women Moyog division committee.

Redonah said women voters, especially in the Moyog state constituency, also currently have no qualms in continuing to stay with GRS and support all the policies implemented.

“We established GRS so that the existing powers can really be used to restore Sabah’s rights, which are all contained in the previous agreement.

“Many of our rights were denied before, and now Hajiji wants to bring Sabah back to its original concept through Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) because that is the spirit we need to have,” she said.

She said there are still many struggles that need to be resolved by the State Government leadership such as providing basic road facilities and clean water supply.

“There are still many areas in Sabah’s villages that are facing problems regarding its electricity supply and so on.

“We have to solve this issue so that the people can benefit from the change and comfort,” she said.

Redonah also urged branch chiefs and polling district center heads to update voter information data in their respective areas.

She said it is important for GRS Women to carry out the necessary works earlier and continually strengthen them so that the people can understand that the GRS government is not just a ruling party, but a party that serves the people.

Redonah, who is also the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, also said that the coming 17th Sabah State Election will definitely be the fiercest battleground for all.

“Each of us has the greatest responsibility in ensuring victory for GRS.

“Therefore, every Women branch chief has to increase membership earlier as this will be the heart of our victory in the coming election,” she said.

Meanwhile, Redonah visited the victims of a fire in Kampung Timpoluon Babagon, Penampang, which had affected six houses of eight families last Friday.
