46 teams for Bukit Bantayan Taman King 3x3 Basketball Tournament

KOTA KINABALU: Forty-six teams took part in the Bukit Bantayan Taman King 3x3 Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.

Organised by Sabah See Hua Group with New Dimension and Soundtech Production as co-organisers and Gamuda Land as the main sponsor, the tournament on Jan 27-28 was also supported by the Kota Kinabalu Basketball Associatio­n and Ararat Sports & Souvenirs.

It was officiated by Gamuda Land Assistant General Manager Frankie Chan Chee Fatt at Bukit Bantayan multi-purpose hall in Inanam.

See Hua Group Operation Manager Toh Lu Hung and staff representa­tive Jenny Lau.

Meanwhile, Chan said the tournament was in line with the vision and objective of Gamuda Land when developing its project, including the community-centric Bukit Bantayan Residence.

He said a lot of efforts have been put into creating an environmen­t that is conducive to the community within Bukit Bantayan Residences.

“Sports activity such as basketball tournament­s, is one of the efforts where we hope will create a platform for the community to socialise and to live a healthy lifestyle.

“We had also organised several festive events in the past where it involved not only the residents but also the public, especially those living nearby,” he said.

The tournament saw 20 teams competing in the Open category and 24 teams in the Under-20 category.

The champions will take home RM2,000 and medals while the runner-up will receive RM500 and medals.

The third placed teams will receive medals.
