Han Jin claims men’s Gross category title in Sutera Harbour golf tournament

KOTA KINABALU: Cho Han Jin was crowned the men’s Gross category winner in the Sutera Harbour January Monthly Medal golf tournament here over the weekend.

Han Jin carded three-over 75 to beat John Vun (77) and Thomas Chang (79) to the title at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club.

In the men’s A Nett section, Lee Sang Don played 67 to edge Ahmad Azuwaniza and Mohd Azahari to top placing. Ahmad settled for second with 69 and Azahari in third with 70.

The top three in the B Nett category were Alvin Yumpud with a countback (OCB) win over Dato’ Yusop Ag Besar after both golfers had finished with identical scores of 69. Rafael Rauf was third with 71.

Cho Eun Sang won the C Nett title, beating Kamaruddin Sudin on countback after they were tied at 69 while Moon Dong Joo won third placing via OCB after finishing his rounds with 72.

In the Ladies Gross category, Han Young Hee carded 80 for the win while Mari Song (83) and Hwang Yong Hee (86) settled for second and third placing respective­ly.

The Ladies Nett title went to Kim Mi Jung with 67 followed by Tricia Nickels Mojulat (68) and Lim Yee Fung (70 ocb).

A nett score of 65 was enough to lift Emma Aishah as champion of the Junior category, beating Roman Aadi Slomiak (74) and Chloe Charmaine (76).

As for the Senior category, Mohd Izaan registered a 66 nett score to finish first with Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam in second place with 77 and Wong Chu Lai in third place with 78.

Vincent Tan won the Super Senior category after winning on countback against Datuk Nurnikman after both played 66s. Third place went to KP Lu after OCB with 70 nett score.

Sutera Harbour Golf Captain Valerian Hansen Petrus officiated at the closing of the tournament.
