State govt fails to address issues of basic facilities – Umno
SANDAKAN: The Sabah state government still failed to address issues of basic facilities especially roads, clean water and electricity supply, said Sabah Umno information head Datuk Suhaimi Nasir.
Bad road conditions have been the top issue that often raised among Sabahans, he said.
“The people of Sabah have been highlighting the poor conditions of our roads, often dubbed moon craters, and it made headlines on social media on a daily basis, showing the state government’s failure to deal with issues that have angered the people.
“We hear and read people’s complaints everywhere, social media, coffee shops and even featured in the mainstream media on these issue of basic facilities.
“In fact, these issues are often raised in the State Legislative Assembly, but the state government still fails to address them,” he said.
Suhaimi added the people are still facing critical infrastructure problems but the Sabah state government is talking about the success of development in the three years under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
Suhaimi elaborated on Hajiji’s statement asking the GRS machinery to play a role in explaining the struggle and development that GRS has undergone in the past three years, during the recent GRS Leadership Strengthening Course.
“There is no need for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah government to talk to the people in order to win the next State Election, because the people know and feel for themselves the failure of the state government until today,” he said in a statement after visiting a new parking project at Jambatan 5, Kampung Tinusa under the allocation of Libaran MP through the People Friendly Project (PMR).
Suhaimi who is also the Libaran Member of Parliament, also explained that the failure to deal with the issue of basic facilities has caused difficulties for Sabah to attract outsiders to do business in the state.
