SCCC to hold Chinese New Year gathering
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) will hold the “Year of the Dragon New Year Gala” at Kick Bistro & Fun Pub, Moretune, Sunny Gardens, Luyang at 6:30pm on March 2.
All members, honourable advisors and local Chinese political leaders will come and celebrate the New Year in the Year of the Dragon together.
SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew recently led the courtesy calls on SCCC honorary advisors Tan Sri Paul Lim Pau and Datuk Lau Koh Sing and invited them to attend the New Year party.
Lim is the founder of TP Group, a famous and successful businessman in the state. His business covers construction, property development and hotel industries. He also holds important positions in many important business associations and contributed significantly in the State education development.
Lau is the managing director of Kim Teck Cheong Group, a company listed on the main board of Kuala Lumpur. He is involved in a wide range of business and also active in the Sabah Chinese community.
He has held important positions such as the chairman of the Kota Kinabalu Hokkien Association and several business associations.
Liew said that everyone agrees that this year will be a critical year, and SCCC hopes to seize the opportunity and do its best to contribute to the economy and trade of Sabah and China.
“We co-organized a number of important economic and trade conferences last year, and also led members and local businesses to China and other places to participate in various exhibitions and conferences, and invited and received Chinese and foreign business groups and corporate representatives to Sabah for exchanges and inspections,” he said.
Liew added that in addition to continuing its existing work, SCCC will also actively cooperate with various projects and plans of the Sabah and Chinese governments to help members explore more business opportunities in key areas such as agriculture, new energy and innovative technology.
