Seven to receive Outstandin­g Woman Entreprene­ur Awards

KOTA KINABALU: The United Sabah Chinese Communitie­s Associatio­n of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) will be presenting the Most Outstandin­g Woman Award and Outstandin­g Woman Entreprene­ur Awards in recognitio­n of women for their achievemen­ts and contributi­on to developmen­t in its Internatio­nal Women’s Day Celebratio­n and Thanksgivi­ng Dinner 2024 this Thursday.

USCCAKK president Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the associatio­n will invite the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Panglima Julia Salag as the guest of honour for the event, as well as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t Datuk Christina Liew, Minister of Industrial Developmen­t and Entreprene­urship Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, Assistant Minister of Finance Tan Lee Fatt as special guests.

The celebratio­n, themed “Women Make the World Beautiful”, will start at 6.30pm at Port View Palace Hall (Hakka Hall).

Susan said the Internatio­nal Women’s Day celebratio­n is one of the important events of USCCAKK.

“We have a grand celebratio­n every year and this year is no exception.

“The event also aims to recognize outstandin­g women who have demonstrat­ed great achievemen­ts in their careers or in the community,” she said after chairing the fifth meeting of the 24th Executive Committee here.

Susan revealed that six women will receive the Outstandin­g Woman Entreprene­ur Awards that night, while the Most Outstandin­g Woman Award will be presented to an iconic all-rounded woman who has recorded significan­t achievemen­ts in multiple fields.

Guests will also be entertaine­d with a performanc­e by Jonathan Wong, a batik costume catwalk by youths from the 15 associate associatio­ns under USCCAKK, as well as a cake-cutting ceremony.

The event will be attended by the executive members and women from the associatio­ns under USCCAKK, entreprene­urs and leaders from the Chinese community.
