Seven to receive Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Awards
KOTA KINABALU: The United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) will be presenting the Most Outstanding Woman Award and Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Awards in recognition of women for their achievements and contribution to development in its International Women’s Day Celebration and Thanksgiving Dinner 2024 this Thursday.
USCCAKK president Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the association will invite the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Panglima Julia Salag as the guest of honour for the event, as well as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew, Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, Assistant Minister of Finance Tan Lee Fatt as special guests.
The celebration, themed “Women Make the World Beautiful”, will start at 6.30pm at Port View Palace Hall (Hakka Hall).
Susan said the International Women’s Day celebration is one of the important events of USCCAKK.
“We have a grand celebration every year and this year is no exception.
“The event also aims to recognize outstanding women who have demonstrated great achievements in their careers or in the community,” she said after chairing the fifth meeting of the 24th Executive Committee here.
Susan revealed that six women will receive the Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Awards that night, while the Most Outstanding Woman Award will be presented to an iconic all-rounded woman who has recorded significant achievements in multiple fields.
Guests will also be entertained with a performance by Jonathan Wong, a batik costume catwalk by youths from the 15 associate associations under USCCAKK, as well as a cake-cutting ceremony.
The event will be attended by the executive members and women from the associations under USCCAKK, entrepreneurs and leaders from the Chinese community.
