Agong’s address clear signal to carefully address MA63

KOTA KINABALU: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim’s address at the opening ceremony of Parliament sitting which touched on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), is characteri­zed as a clear signal for the Federal Government to carefully consider the matter.

Parti Solidariti Sabah Tanah Airku (Sabah STAR) deputy president Datuk Robert Tawik, stated that the Agong was indirectly reminding all Members of Parliament, especially the Federal Government leadership, to seriously address the MA63.

“It is crucial for the Federal Government administra­tion to address the MA63 issue in accordance with His Majesty’s order. This means that there should be no more obstacles preventing the realizatio­n of the MA63 for the people of Sabah and Sarawak,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Robert, who is also Bingkor assemblyma­n said that all Members of Parliament from

Sabah and Sarawak, regardless of political ideology, should unite in discussing matters related to MA63 in this parliament­ary session.

According to him, the parliament­ary stage is the best platform for all representa­tives from both regions to present constructi­ve ideas, ensuring that they can be implemente­d promptly for the continued developmen­t of the people in Sabah and Sarawak.

Robert expressed gratitude for the Agong’s address regarding MA63, aiming to propel the states of Sabah and Sarawak, together with the Federation, towards a better future, be it in politics, economy or unity.

Sultan Ibrahim, in his address expressed satisfacti­on with the government’s steps in resolving issues related to MA63 and hoped that the formulated agreement could benefit all stakeholde­rs in fulfilling their desires and aspiration­s for shared prosperity.
