Thunder Cranes secures multi-year crane contract with Petronas Carigali

LABUAN: Thunder Cranes, a market-leading provider of portable-modular cranes and specialise­d lifting solutions for offshore oil and gas platforms and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO), has clinched a significan­t contract with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Petronas.

Thunder Cranes chief executive officer Dinesh Arumugam said the contract award represents a pivotal achievemen­t and underscore­s Thunder Cranes’ steadfast dedication to delivering safe, innovative, and efficient solutions, coupled with unmatched service quality to clients within the energy sector.

He said that under the terms of the contract, Thunder Cranes is set to supply portable-modular offshore rental cranes, bolstering Petronas Carigali’s operations in Malaysia.

“We are honoured to be chosen as Petronas Carigali’s preferred partner for this crucial project.

“This contract is a testament to the trust and confidence our clients place in Thunder Cranes to provide superior solutions that align with their operationa­l needs,” he said to Bernama.

Operating extensivel­y in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Thunder Cranes caters to lifting requiremen­ts in both offshore platform and FPSO markets.

Its lifting solutions play a pivotal role in supporting well interventi­on, decommissi­oning, facilities engineerin­g, and flaretip removal activities.

Establishe­d in Labuan in 1994, Thunder Cranes maintains its headquarte­rs in Malaysia and newly-appointed chief operating officer David Withers attributes Thunder Cranes’ success to the proficienc­y of its Malaysian workforce.
