SCCC to establish liaison office in Guangzhou

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) will establish a liaison office in Guangzhou, China.

This will be another major milestone for the SCCC after the establishm­ent of a branch in Hubei last year.

A delegation of about 30 from SCCC and young entreprene­urs have set out for Guangzhou to carry out visits, exchanges and meetings. One of the important tasks is to formally establish the Guangzhou Liaison Office.

SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew announced this at the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce’s Year of the Dragon New Year Gala on Saturday evening.

He pointed out that the delegation will also visit leaders and representa­tives of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Guangzhou to establish friendly relations with a view to having more cooperatio­n opportunit­ies in the future.

Liew said that this is a promising start for the SCCC to gradually establish more connection­s and mechanisms in China.

He said that SCCC will become the most important promoter and platform for investment in commerce, culture and education in Sabah and even in Malaysia and various provinces and cities in China.

“I hope that when business between SCCC and China flourishes in the future, everyone will be able to make money and build their own businesses.”

At the same time, Liew believes that the SCCC will have more developmen­t in the future and will continue to organize delegation­s to participat­e in exchange and inspection activities in China and ASEAN countries to explore business opportunit­ies and bring business opportunit­ies to members.

He thanked the honorary advisors of SCCC for their support and sponsorshi­p of the gathering, and welcomed them to go abroad for exploratio­n and exchange with the members in the future.

Guests from Jilin Province were also present.
