-

KOTA KINABALU: Kim Teck Cheong (KTC) Consolidated Berhad and Unit Pemimpin Pembangunan Masyarakat (UPPM) yesterday unveiled its newest initiative, the Iftar Charity Programme, dedicated to supporting the needy and less fortunate and orphanages throughout Sabah during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Iftar Charity Programme aims to extend a helping hand to those in need by providing breakfast (buka puasa) meals to less fortunate families and orphaned children across the state.

This compassionate initiative embodies KTC and UPPM’s unwavering commitment to serving the community and uplifting the lives of the underprivileged.

Through the Iftar Breakfast Charity Programme, KTC and UPPM will organise iftar gatherings at 25 locations across Sabah, ensuring that families facing economic hardship receive essential support during Ramadan. It started off in Kalabakan on Thursday.

Additionally, orphanages will be visited, where children at orphanages will have the opportunity to choose their favourite baju raya (traditional attire for Eid) at Servay Supermarket.

“In the spirit of Ramadan, we are thrilled to launch the Iftar Breakfast Programme and Children Shopping Raya, an initiative that embodies the spirit of compassion, generosity and solidarity,” said Datuk Dexter Lau, Executive Director of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad.

“As we observe the holy month of Ramadan, let us come together as one community to celebrate our shared values and promote harmony among all residents of Sabah and bring happiness to orphanage children across Sabah,” said Datuk Lau Kok Sing, Managing Director of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad.

UPPM director Datuk Awang Kadin Tang invites individuals, businesses and organisations to contribute to the Iftar Charity Programme through donations of funds, food items, or volunteer assistance.

“Together, we can make a positive impact and spread hope and kindness to those in need,” he said.
