Malaysia, Jingzhou set for better business ties
KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia is set to enhance business collaboration and relationships with Jingzhou after a delegation led by Zhou Fangfang, President of the Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Association, President of the Sabah Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Hubei Branch, and General Representative of the Sabah University Hubei Provincial Office, made an inspection visit to the Chinese city on March 1415.
The visit was aimed at fostering platforms and connections to facilitate external exchanges and collaboration.
It significantly strengthened partnerships and cooperation in various areas such as economy and trade, sister cities, culture and education.
The Malaysian delegation was hosted by the Jingzhou Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
They were received by Song Bin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, and accompanied by Shen Yan, a member of the Party Group of the Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Executive Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during their inspection.
Zhou and her team visited the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and conducted inspections at several food and agricultural enterprises including Jintong Food, Xiaohu Duck, Mindan Agriculture, Meilingbao, Zhaojiazhuang Food and Laojiawei Taste.
They also toured two vocational colleges, the Foreign Language Institute of Changjiang University and Changjiang Arts Engineering Vocational College, as well as the Kangmeng Traditional Chinese Medicine Industrial Park, Crossborder E-commerce Industrial Park, and Lianghu Market among other industrial parks.
The delegation engaged in extensive discussions and exchanges with the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the Municipal Trade Promotion Association, and other relevant market entities, leading to a mutual agreement on collaboration.
The purpose of the visit included a study on charity initiatives at Zhaojiazhuang Food Co., Ltd.
During the exchange, Zhou commended the economic and social progress of Jingzhou and introduced the roles of business associations and institutions such as the Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Association, the Sabah Chinese Chamber of Commerce and University Malaysia Sabah. She also held discussions with relevant companies and units in Jingzhou to explore avenues and strategies for cooperation.
Zhou highlighted that the Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Association has extensive resources and networks in Malaysia, with member companies involved in various sectors including infrastructure, trade, e-commerce, retail, institutions and healthcare.
The Jingzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade will continue to monitor the outcomes of this collaborative exchange initiative. It will endeavor to advance the execution of pertinent cooperation projects, as well as facilitate the resolution of any challenges faced during enterprise collaboration.
A cooperation agreement is set to be signed with the Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Association.
Meanwhile, the Jingzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade plans to organize the Jingzhou Economic and Trade and Industrial Promotion Fair in Sabah.
This initiative aims to broaden the scope of cooperation, enhance the outcomes of collaboration, and foster bilateral cooperation.
