Mutiara GRS urged to continue charity, community programs

KOTA KINABALU: Pertubuhan Muafakat Titipan Amal Isteri Wakil Rakyat, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (Mutiara GRS) has been urged to continue all charity and community programs that have benefited the people, especially concerning social, economic and health, this year.

The Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag, who is also the head of Mutiara GRS, said she was proud of the overall success of the program implemented by the movement over the past two years.

She pointed out that the success was thanks to the solid cooperation between all members of Mutiara GRS.

“I believe we can do better if we continue to unite to achieve everything we have planned. I would like to see this collaboration continue to meet the goal of establishing a pure Mutiara GRS.

“As in previous years, Mutiara GRS collaborates with various government departments and agencies as well as other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to implement various programs that benefit the people, especially women.

“Therefore, I hope that joint ventures with organizations or associations should be enhanced to further expand the reach of the Mutiara GRS goals,” she said when officiating the Mutiara GRS’ third Annual General Meeting 2023 at the Mutiara GRS House here, on Saturday.

At the same time, she also urged all Mutiara GRS members to further increase activities and assistance at the grassroots level that can benefit those in need.

“I believe that through the efforts of going down to the ground, we can get closer to the people and learn about the problems they face.

“This is important because the state election is scheduled to be held next year. Therefore, we must step up our activities to complement our husbands’ efforts in helping the people in their respective areas. Use our network of supporters to the fullest to help as many people as possible in need,” she said.

Meanwhile, Juliah also urged all members of Mutiara GRS to improve their knowledge and skills, especially those related to information technology.

“As women, mothers or housewives, it is not an obstacle for us to continue to study, to get out of our comfort zone for the development of our minds and benefits for ourselves,” she said.
