‘GRS-PH Plus State Govt improves economy’

-

KOTA KINABALU: The GRS-PH Plus State Government has proven to better the economic situation in Sabah since it came into power, as opposed to the opposition’s recent incessant attacks against the party, said Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan.

“Maybe it is their task to continue being the opposition because the only thing on their minds is to negate all the good efforts that have been done by us when we have proven to change the economic situation in Sabah for the better.

“We became the government in 2020 and now it is nearing 2024, and we see that Sabah’s economic level is showing positive signs. With the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) direction under the leadership of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, it is clearly for the people, and it holistically develops Sabah with a focus on the people’s welfare, the industrial sector, tourism and sustainability,” he told reporters during a breaking fast ceremony with the media hosted by him at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on Sunday.

Nizam, who is also Apas assemblyman, gave other examples of their efforts to increase the state’s economic level, which are finding renewable energy resources, fighting poverty by requiring government-linked companies that invest in the state to employ Sabahans, and the SMJ Rumah Mesra programme.

“All of this show that the GRSPH Plus government is serious and does not waste time on politics,” he said.

When asked to comment on Parti Warisan Sabah and Barisan Nasional possibly teaming up in the coming state elections, Nizam said it is none of his concern and it is up to them, and the importang thing now is to focus on developing the state through implementing programmes that benefit the people.

On GRS’ alleged “stealing” of assemblymen from the opposition, Nizam said they do not want to cooperate with them either.

Meanwhile, he said Gagasan Rakyat throughout the Ramadan month has collaborated with several departments to entertain the rakyat from the B40 bracket, including by hosting mosque tours.
