KMI Healthcare launches orthopaedic services in Tawau
TAWAU: KMI Tawau Medical Centre (KMI Tawau), one of the hospitals within the Kumpulan Medic Iman (KMI Healthcare) hospital network, has commenced its orthopaedic services.
The inauguration ceremony was officiated by Tuan Haji Anuar Bin Ali, Director of KMI Tawau, on May 21.
This launch represents KMI Tawau Hospital’s development, particularly in quality treatment, to achieve the company’s slogan, “Leading Healthy Life.”
Among the treatments offered by KMI Tawau Orthopaedic Services are minimally invasive procedures, sports surgery, spine surgery, arthroplasty, limb deformity correction, hand, foot and ankle pathology, wound care and flap coverage, regenerative medicine, trauma and fracture management, and pain intervention management.
To support orthopaedic services at KMI Tawau, a Carm imaging system has been acquired to assist in more efficient and effective treatment management.
This C-arm device provides real-time imaging and reduces radiation exposure to help patients recover faster, and the treatment performed is more accurate.
To ensure the safety of patients and medical staff, this model has a powerful Harmonic Frequency Generator (HFG) and a rotating tube with low-dose Xray exposure.
Orthopaedic services in KMI Tawau started in July 2023, and the C-arm technology was officially used in December 2023. The hospital revenue increased by 135% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the third quarter of 2023 due to the additional services.
