-

KUCHING: iflix, a member of the Catcha Group and Southeast Asia’s leading Internet TV service provider announced yesterday that it has entered an agreement with Vimond Media Solutions (Vimond) for continued development of its Internet TV platform.

The group in a press statement said Vimond is the leading enabler of unique digital video services worldwide and will work with iflix to power and grow the online and mobile Internet TV service’s technology across all markets.

Vimond will provide a managed service for iflix based on its award winning online video platform, and provide operational expertise gained from more than 15 years in the broadcasting and online TV industries.

iflix’s chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Britt said, “Vimond has been instrumental since day one of iflix.

"From the first meeting we already knew that Vimond was the right partner.

“Given the wealth of content and cultures in the Southeast Asian market, we needed a strong partner that would seamlessly be able to handle multiple content ingest points and multiple distribution points in several languages and formats.

“We found everything we were looking for in Vimond and are very excited to be working with a true expert in the field that relates to its customers at a peer level and not as a traditional vendor,” he said.

In order to support iflix, Vimond said it will establish a regional operations centre in Kuala Lumpur.
