Sarawakians should give Adenan 5 more years – Social activist

-

MIRI: Social activist Wan Zain Syed Mohdzar said Sarawakians should give Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem another full mandate to helm the state for five more years if they want to see more positive changes.

According to him, Adenan's integrity and credibility in steering Sarawak towards development should not be questioned but instead be given full support.

“He (Adenan) has brought many changes for the development and prosperity of Sarawak, therefore the people must also give him and the state government their undivided support,” he told The Borneo Post recently.

Thus, he added, the people must translate their full support into votes for Barisan Nasional (BN).

“The state government has done many things for the good of the people. It is time the people ‘pay back’ through the ballot box by voting for Barisan Nasional,” he pointed out.

Among the positive changes brought by Adenan, he mentioned, were combating illegal logging, abolition of bridge tolls and reduction of electricity tariffs.

Other factors to be considered before the election, he said, include the replacement of non-performing elected representatives.

“Those ‘wakil rakyat’ who are not contributing to their constituency must be replaced and problems within the BN component parties must be resolved before the election,” he pointed out.

The fight for seats among BN parties and BN friendly parties must be resolved as it would only benefit the opposition, he added.

“If all the problems can be overcome with the best formula before election, Sarawak will continue to retain its position as BN’s stronghold,” he said.
