Angkasa appointed consultant for projects worth RM1 bln

KOTA BAHARU: Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa) has been appointed as a marketing consultant for three real estate projects worth RM1 billion which would be developed by United Flagship Developmen­t Sdn Bhd here.

Its president, Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah said the first phase of the projects entailed the constructi­on of 757 units of industrial and business premises costing RM445 million on a 50.59-hectare site in Seribong here which would be completed at the end of 2018.

He said RM225 million would be spent to build 1,000 housing units on a 42.5-hectare site in the same area in the second phase of the project with the houses priced between RM200,000 and RM350,000.

The third phase of the project involves the constructi­on of a hotel and a condotel costing RM300 million in Jalan Sultan Ibrahim here which will start at the end of this year and is expected to be completed in 2018, he added.

Abdul Fattah was speaking to reporters at an Aidilfitri open house hosted by Angkasa Kelantan and the signing of a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) between MyAngkasa Bina Holdings with United Flagship Developmen­t here today.

Abdul Fattah signed on behalf of MyAngkasa Bina Holdings while United Flagship Developmen­t Sdn Bhd was represente­d by Sensa Timur Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nik Azman Nik Mustapha.

Sensa Timur is a subsidiary of United Flagship Developmen­t.

Present were Angkasa vice-president Datuk Kamarudin Ismail and Angkasa Kelantan chairman Datuk Che Mohd Shukree Che Isa.

Abdul Fattah said the projects would enable cooperativ­es in the state to be involved in high-impact business and give opportunit­ies to 500,000 members of cooperativ­e societies under its wing to buy the properties. — Bernama
