‘Make use of funds to pursue higher education’

-

ENGKILILI: Engkilili Assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong hopes the two education funds for his constituents will help motivate more youngsters to pursue further education.

The two education funds are ‘1Engkilili Foundation Education Fund’ which he himself set up and the other ‘UPP Education Fund’ was set up by his party – United People’s Party (UPP).

One of reasons the young people must make use of either one of the funds was that he wanted to produce more educated people from the area.

“Only through education could more development come to the area. You cannot expect less. Educated people will help to draw more development through experiences in their respective professions.”

He said if anyone from Engkilili had any problem applying for the education funds they could come and see him or his assistants.

“What is important is that the applicants must be serious and fairly good academically when applying for the funds. As long as one (from Engkilili) is interested in pursuing higher education, one should have no problem applying for financial assistance from the funds,” he said.

Both funds (1Engkilili Foundation Education Fund and UPP Education Fund) were launched in 2014 and last year respectively.

Johnical said this at a function at SK San Semanju near here Friday.

During the event he thanked the teachers for their dedication and hoped the school would continue to produce excellent results in public examinations in the future. He later gave the school parent-teacher association RM10,000 in government fund to run their yearly activities.

“Only the BN can bring development to the people and there is no other BN representative here (Engkilili) except me. I believe the local people know that very well because they voted for me in the previous election,” he said.

He thus advised the people to vote for him and the BN government this coming election for more progress and development.
