Mawan assures of constant improvement in delivery system to meet people’s expectations

PAKAN: The Barisan Nasional (BN) government is striving to improve its delivery system from time to time to meet the people’s expectations.

Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom said that was one of the main objectives of holding `Sejiwa Senada’ programmes in various towns including one in Sarikei and Saratok recently.

The programme brought all the government agencies to set up their booths under one roof to showcase various government development programmes and policies implemented through them, apart from normal services for the people, said Mawan who is also Saratok MP and Pakan assembyman.

He said he believed members of the civil services gained ample experience from the Sejiwa Senada programme which they could use to improve service quality. He was presenting `1Malaysia People’s Aid’ (BR1M) vouchers and minor rural project (MRP) grants to locals at Pakan Community Hall here last Saturday.

A total of 530 people from the district whose BR1M were paid through vouchers could cash them at mobile counters set up by Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) in the conference room of Pakan District Office for their convenience that day so they need not make the trip to Sarikei.

“The people can expect more efficient services provided by the various agencies as the government is making it a point to continue exploring all ways and means to improve its delivery system,” Mawan assured.

He advised the people to continue working with the government to find solutions to problems encountered on the ground.

Among those present were Pakan District Officer Alex liau, a representative from Sarikei Resident’s Office, Jeffry Jalong; Meradong/Julau District Council secretary Adrian Luang, Pemanca Tekong Ranggi, Julau Parliamentary Special Affairs Department (Jasa) liaison officer Sylvester Embuas and community leaders.
