Assistant Minister of Land Development Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz notes that RTM has successfully played its role as provider and disseminator of information.

“RTM plays an important role in assisting and interacting with the various communities so that their opinions can be heard. It also serves as a mouthpiece of the government to disseminate development programmes and policies for the benefit of the people,” he said during the Majlis

Abdul Wahab added that RTM was also seen as a purveyor of authentic and truthful information which listeners would not doubt.

“Therefore, RTM must always stay ahead and remain relevant by disseminating information and news that are current and accurate apart from airing or televising informative and educative programmes,” he added.

At the function, Abdul Wahab announced a grant of RM12, 000 to RTM Sarawak for its activities.

The dinner themed ‘Cowboys and Cowgirls’ was organised by RTM Kuching TV Section and attended by Sarawak Broadcasting director Salmah Ibrahim Melina, deputy director Jamel Seman, TV Section senior assistant director Jamal Abdullah among others.
