SIBU: A sea of audience swamped Star Mega Mall lobby to enjoy the performance of Chinese superstar Uriah See Khai on Friday night.

The 21-year-old lad from Johor thrilled the audience with his fantastic presentation in the event hosted by See Hua Daily News. Uriah, who holds the top title in Astro Star Quest 2014, is currently on a concert tour of East Malaysia to promote his EP, a Chinese song entitled ‘The Only Thing That matters’.

In his one-hour jaunt with his fans, Uriah crooned and got up close with his fans by signing autographs. Uriah has created a record of sorts in the Malaysian singing scene, his rise to fame akin to a shooting star.

The lad was only 19 when he beat 1,000 contestants to emerge the singular winner of the annual Astro Star Quest Chinese Singing Competition 2014 in Bukit Jalil Stadium in August.

A talented entertainer, Uriah went on to win the World Championship at the TVB International Chinese New Talents Singing Championship in Hong Kong on Nov 30 2015, beating even the best of the best from China, and also the cream of new talents from around the world, including those from the USA, Australia, Singapore, Canada and New Zealand. Uriah not only cuts good looks, he is also multi-talented in violin – and badminton.

Collaborating in the event with See Hua were Daesim Group of Companies, Astro, All Stars, My FM, Tanahmas and Cafe Cafe.
