M’sia wins all three competitions contested at TAC
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian participants won all three competitions participated in The Asean Colloquium (TAC) 2016, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand from Feb 18 to 21.
Malaysia Global Leadership Institute (GLI) director Nive Yong Chuan Ling said Tamil Vaani Karunanithy won the Global Impromptu Speech FaceOff competition, while Khairul Anwar Mohamad Zaki and Nur Amalina Mohamad Zaki clinched the World Marketing Plan competition in the pairs category.
Aaron Cheong Chee Qing and his partner Nikki Palaruan from the Philippines won the pairs category in the International Business Case Analysis competition.
“The Malaysian delegation created an impressive victory by winning all three competitions participated, defeating participants from other countries,” she said at a press conference here yesterday.
Four events were contested at the TAC 2016, which tested participants on their business skills, but Malaysia did not enter an event namely the Global Leadership Development and Research Proposal.
Nive Yong, who is also the TAC 2016 ambassador said the winners would be given an exclusive opportunity to participate in events organised by GLI in other countries.
Organised by GLI, a nongovernmental organisation that focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals framework of the United Nations, TAC 2016, was participated by 20 Malaysian delegates and 200 international delegates.
Khairul Anwar, who is also a businessman, said his first win that he shared with his sister Nur Amalia, would be the starting point for him to participate in more competitions and international conferences in the future.
In the World Marketing Plan competition, Khairul Anwar and Nur Amalina were given a task to prepare a marketing plan to solve the environmental pollution problem.
Cheong, a second-year student at the International Medical University (IMU) said he and his partner had to find a solution to the problems arising from a business scenario. — Bernama
