Angel takes second spot in Yeo’s Natural Beauty contest on S’wak Day

MIRI: Organisers of Yeo’s Natural Beauty Contest presented prize to the second-placed winner of the competitio­n, Angel Chin, 19, here yesterday.

Angel, accompanie­d by photograph­er Lex Teo, both from Miri, received the RM2,000 prize money from See Hua Marketing ( Miri branch manager) Wong Kee Mee.

Two sales supervisor­s from Yeo Hiap Seng Trading Sdn Berhad — Leery Pui Yung Yee and Wee Siew Beng — were also present.

“It is wonderful to win the competitio­n and even more meaningful receiving it on Sarawak Day.

“I am proud to be a Sarawakian and thank you to the organisers and my photograph­er Teo. Winning the competitio­n shows that Miri too has talents who could promote Miri and also Yeo’s products,” said Angel, a freelance dancer.

On the prize money, she hoped to use it for something beneficial and share some with Teo.

Meanwhile, Teo said he was happy that his photograph of Angel was able to win the second spot, adding that it was tough to project model on photograph especially when no make-up was required.

The champion of the contest is Ellie Wee Pek Choo ( 24, Kuching; photograph­er: Toh Hong Joo) while the third prize winner is Ateka Mohamad (19, Kuching; photograph­er: Kelvin Chan Wan Li).

The models won themselves RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000 respective­ly while the daily winners (female models) and their photograph­ers were rewarded with RM100 each.

In addition, the three winning models will be prominentl­y featured in a series of roadshows throughout Yeo’s marketing campaign at major malls in Sarawak in the near future.

They will be greeting the public with their captivatin­g smiles and energy.

The Borneo Post, See Hua Daily News and Utusan Borneo are the joint organising partners with Yeo Hiap Seng ( Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for the second time in Yeo’s Natural Beauty contest.

The monthlong contest (June 1 – 30) searching for the most zestful ladies who ooze the essence of ‘ natural beauty’ received overwhelmi­ng response from the enthusiast­ic participan­ts ( both the female models and their photograph­ers) from all walks of life.

The contest drew inspiratio­n from Yeo’s Green Tea, a favourite beverage among ladies.

Thedrinkis­freshlybre­wedfrom premium green tea leaves, which contain no added preservati­ve and no added colouring.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidan­t properties to combat free radicals in the body and increase body metabolism for better weight management.
