Mercedes-Benz posts record breaking 1H performance
KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes- Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd posted a record breaking performance for the first half of this year, registering a double- digit growth of 17 per cent, compared with the same period last year, and delivered over 6,000 cars, nationwide.
The German premium marque also recorded its best monthly sales in June, selling 1,203 cars, and best ever quarter in the second quarter with a total of 3,359 cars sold.
Mercedes- Benz Malaysia Vice- President, Sales and Marketing, Passenger Cars Mark Raine said the performance was attributable to a successful product offensive strategy and maintaining focus on providing a superlative experience for customers.
“The key to our success is the combination of a comprehensive product range, a strong dealer network and customer- centric strategies in delivering the best customer experience,” he said in a statement.
He said with the launch of the new sport utility vehicles, as well as, the C-Class and the E-Class variants, the company was confident of continuing their sales growth.
Mercedes- Benz Malaysia President and Chief Executive Officer Dr Claus Weidner said the company continued to concentrate its efforts on key customer touch points through its expansive authorised dealer network to enhance the retail experience and customer service.
“Mercedes- Benz Malaysia remains focused on providing the best products and services to the Malaysian market, and this has helped us achieve and retain the lead position in the premium segment.
“We have maintained record unit sales for the past 16 consecutive months, and we will continue to deliver excellent service to all our discerning customers,” he added.
From January to June, Mercedes- Benz retained its position as the leading premium brand in Malaysia, with a market share of 2.5 per cent.
The company’s network serviced a record 52,700 cars in the first half of the year, up 18 per cent, compared with the same period last year and achieved the best ‘ Customer Satisfaction Index After Sales’ rating and leadership position in the competitor benchmark study. — Bernama
