Perodua Bezza open for booking

KUCHING: The Perodua Bezza has received overwhelmi­ng response from consumers with 4,028 bookings within the first five days from its open for booking date.

As Perodua’s first energy efficient vehicle (EEV), Bezza has surpassed its initial sales target mark for its 1.3 litre Advance variant at 50 per cent, followed by its 1.3 litre Premium at 35 per cent while the remaining 15 per cent was for its 1.0 litre AT/MT model.

“We are very grateful to the Malaysian public and particular­ly our customers for their strong support of us,” said Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh during its launch Thursday night.

With prices ranging from RM37,000 for its 1.0 litre Standard G ( manual transmissi­on) to RM50,800 for its 1.3 litre Advance variant (automatic transmissi­on), Perodua is targeting monthly sales at 7,600 units.

Its target consumers are buyers across the market segment including the urbanites, newlyweds, young families, young executives and those looking for replacemen­t model.

The Bezza comes in five variants – the 1.0 litre manual and automatic transmissi­on, the 1.3 litre “Premium X” manual and automatic transmissi­on, and the 1.3 litre “Advance” automatic transmissi­on.

“The Bezza took RM300 million to develop and has 95 per cen local content,” Aminar said.

The model is produced at its EEV- certified plant, Perodua Manufactur­ing Sdn Bhd, which also produces Axia. The plant has over 75 per cent automation rate.

rating by Asean NCAP , Perodua has positioned safety as one of its selling points with affordable price range to the masses.

Perodua Bezza 1.3 litre Advance is equipped with Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, ABS, EBD and speed sensing wiper.

The Perodua Bezza variants are also packed with front and front corner sensors, reverse camera, reverse sensors and so on.

“This sedan car has one of the biggest boot spaces in the market with 508 litres available in its class,” he said.

“It is also versatile enough with the foldable rear seats confogurat­ion which results in an 8+1 seating configurat­ion to allow for maximum flexibilit­y. It does not compromise the interior which has plenty of leg room for a compact sedan.”

Meanwhile, the Bezza 1.0 litre engine can reach fuel consumptio­n of 22.8km per litre for the 5speed manual transmissi­on. Its automatic transmissi­on can travel up to 21.3km per litre with eco driving.

Also among the EEV variants is the 1.3 litre manual transmissi­on which can reach up to 792km of driving with full tank.

It can potentiall­y travel 21.7km per litre while the electronic 4speed automatic transmissi­on can travel 22km per litre by applying the ‘Eco Idle’ system which isavailabl­e in the Advance variant only.

The car comes in six different colours, which includes Sugar Brown and Ocean Blue for 1.3L variants, which are new metallic colours for Perodua, as well as existing colours of Lava Red, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver and Solid Ivory White.
