LIMBANG: Limbang folk are reminded to collaborate to help the authorities curb the drug menace, which is threatening all strata of the community including in rural areas.

The number one social ill in the country had to be tackled through such efforts, said Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah.

“While the younger generation strive to shield themselves from the threats of drug abuse, their parents and the community should work closely such as providing religious education to their children to fortify them from social ills,” he said at a recent Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering jointly organised by Kampung Sembiling’s Surau Nurul Azmi, and its Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) and Neighbourhood Committee.

Among those present were Limbang Divisional Unity Officer Mohd Fakri Asmad, Penghulu Abu Tinggal and Kampung Sembiling headman Sulaiman Adi.

Besides ensuring the younger generation contribute towards nation-building, the people must nurture the existing peace and harmony for continued progress and prosperity.

“Malaysians should count their blessings for being able to celebrate Hari Raya in a peaceful manner, unlike war-torn countries like Turkey where there is chaos following an attempted coup by the military,” Hasbi said.
