RTM to air ‘Salam Baitullah’ programme from Aug 31 till Sept 15

KUALA LUMPUR: Radio Televisyen Malaysia ( RTM) has targeted over a million viewers to watch its ‘ Salam Baitullah’ programme to be aired from Aug 31 to Sept 15 in conjunctio­n with the haj season this year.

Its Deputy Director- General ( Strategic), Datuk Adilah Shek Omar said the 16- episode television programme would be aired for an hour at 9pm on TV1.

“As for the content, we focused on pilgrimage activities in Makkah and Madinah, apart from providing informatio­n to families of pilgrims in Malaysia,” she told reporters after officiatin­g the ‘Salam Baitullah’ launching ceremony at Wisma Berita, Angkasapur­i here yesterday.

She said the seventh season programme would also air a special live telecast show in conjunctio­n with Wukuf day, expected to fall on Sept 11, from 4.30pm to 11pm.

Themed ‘ Memetik Ibrah, Membentuk Sahsiah’ for this season, ‘ Salam Baitullah’ is a documentar­y- cum-news and talk show programme with famous religious preachers in the country appearing as its guests, she said.

“Among them are Datuk Ustaz Kazim Elias, Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid, Ustazah Norhafizah Musa, Al Habib Ali Zaenal Abidin Abu Bakar Al Hamid and Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani,” she said.

The programme, hosted by Ustaz Syed Abdul Kadir Aljoofre and Heliza Helmi, is sponsored by Serai Emas Holdings in collaborat­ion with Lembaga Tabung Haji and Bank Rakyat.

‘Salam Baitullah’ made its debut during the hajj season in 2009 with only four episodes. RTM took the initiative by collaborat­ing with Tabung Haji and Bank Rakyat in the following year to revamp the show. — Bernama
