KUCHING: The government has adopted a strategy of encouragin­g innovative thinking or culture to enhance livelihood and create sustainabl­e wealth for every Malaysian to meet the challenges in today’s changing landscape.

In view of this, it was imperative for women to strive to improve themselves with knowledge to reach their potential, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri said in her National Women’s Day message yesterday.

She said National Women’s Day on Aug 25 was a day to remember the wonderful deeds, contributi­ons and sacrifices made by women for family, society and country.

of humanity, science, medicine, sports, religion, economics, social and politics.

“Whether you are a mother, wife, child in urban or rural areas, you play an important role in nation building. In certain situations, you have outdone men,” she said.

In line with this year’s theme ‘Integrate Efforts – No Women Left Out’, Nancy implored all women in Malaysia to continue to be innovative in making a difference in whatever field they were in.

“Together we stand and move forward to create and reap rewards and sustain profitabil­ity, contributi­ng to the developmen­t of our people and nation building. Happy National Women’s Day 2016!”
