Do not go against ruling coalition, rural folk advised

-

SRI AMAN: Deputy Home Minister Masir Kujat has advised the people in the rural areas to never go against the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional ( BN), in that they still need assistance in terms of development from the government.

“If you (rural folk) go against the BN, it would somewhat disrupt future development projects in your own areas,” he said during a ‘Meet the Leaders’ session here recently, conducted by Sri Aman Special Affairs Department (Jasa) with cooperation from the village security and development committee (JKKK) of Rumah Luang in Kemintin.

Masir, who is Sri Aman MP, said the rural communities should continue working together to ensure that every development project in their areas could be carried out smoothly.

According to him, the opposition is ‘only good in talking’ instead of helping out those in the rural areas, who are still far behind as far as development in concerned.

“Their (opposition) capabilities are unlike the BN, which has been working very hard to upgrade and improve the people’s standard of living systematically.”

Later, Masir announced an allocation of RM30,000 for Rumah Panjang Luang to be used for land clearing activities; and another RM20,000 for its JKKK.

The session also hosted community leaders from the nearby areas of Klauh, Melugu, Entulang and Panggil.
