Kenyah community wants more radio air time — Anyi
MIRI: The government has been urged to extend the radio broadcast time of the Talidio Kenyah programme on RTM Miri FM radio station from one hour currently to two hours daily to meet the needs and demand of listeners throughout the state.
In making the call, Baram Member of Parliament Anyi Ngau said he had received multiple requests from the community to extend the current broadcast time which is claimed as insufficient.
“I would like to propose to the government to extend the broadcast hour so as to give more time for the listeners not just to listen to news and information given during the broadcast hour but also to deliver important messages through the radio station,” he said when officiating at this year’s “Pentas Krismas Talidio Kenyah MiriFM” held at Bintang Megamall on Sunday.
Anyi pointed out that the radio station had played a significant role by disseminating information and messages to the rural Kenyah community in Baram to Belaga.
He noted that radio services were still very relevant especially among the rural folks.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Kenyah Christians from various denominations thronged Bintang Megamall to witness the Christmas
