-

KUCHING: A line-up of activities slated for bringing people together this Christmas will be happening at Tapah Sentral along KuchingSerian Road from Dec 17 to 18.

The activities include community policing, food trucks and a recycling campaign by Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and environmental protection.

According to a publicity release, volunteers can collect recyclable items such as clothes, bottles, cans, papers as well as 3C (computer, communication, consumer) products at the event.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Police Community Association (SPCA) will do a policing walkabout involving 30 members of community police and 15 police personnel at Tapah Sentral on Dec 18.

SPCA chairman Datuk John Lau Pang Heng is inviting people in and around the neighbourhood to take part in the programme, seen as a good platform to enhance communications between police and members of the public in the fight against crime.

Additionally, the city’s famous food truck operators Kuching Food Kartel – known for its signature charcoal bun burgers, and Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa will be serving some delightful dishes to the community.

DiGi mobile trucks will also be present to provide their services, while the Magnum 4D marketing team will be giving aways out special door gifts.
