-

SIBU: Twenty-seven child care providers took part in a ChildCaring course, ‘Kursus Asuhan Permata’ held over 16 days between Oct 28 and Dec 10. It was organised by Association of Registered Childcare Providers Sarawak (ARCPS).

According to a representative from ARCPS Paul Sia, the course emphasised on the importance of balanced childcare activity that would enhance total brain development.

He said it also included the development of a child’s physical abilities, senses, creativity, personality, language and communication as well as logical thinking.

“This is done through various lessons play to be carried out by a child under the guidance of a childcare provider especially during the initial three years of a child’s life.

“As childcare providers, we are handling the initial three years of children, the most critical and important part of their lives because this period determines the future course of their lives,” he said.

“I hope the Ministry of Social Welfare would continue to support in organising this course through our association to ensure quality standard in childcare and hence quality citizens of Malaysia,” Sia stated.

Present to give away the certificates to participants was Sibu Welfare Officer (Development Division), Ali Taha Ayang.
