“With that, Musa Ngog’s statement that Spencer anak Ruan is not a citizen is not correct,” she said.

On Wednesday, Musa claimed that Spencer, a SMK Tebedu student from Kampung Kujang Mawang in Tebedu, was one of the numerous cases of stateless natives in the rural areas.

Musa, also PKR Puncak Borneo Youth chief, said Spencer’s citizenship was stripped off when he applied for his MyKad at he Serian Registration Office (JPN) in 2014.

Spencer’s mother is an Indonesian holding val id immigrat ion document, while his father is a Bidayuh.

Musa also claimed Spencer had been stateless for two years, and the (NRD) officer had even advised his parents to apply for Indonesian citizenship even though Spencer was born in Serian Hospital, which was recorded in his birth certificate.
