Be competitiv­e, female civil servants urged

SERIAN: Female civil servants should always strive to be competitiv­e, knowledgea­ble and possess high moral values to be on a par with their male counterpar­ts.

Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council ( Maksak) Women chairman, Puan Sri Saptuyah Suib also reminded them to serve with commitment in order to contribute meaningful­ly for their own self developmen­t, their family and community.

“The contributi­ons of women civil servants are tremendous because they not only serve the society and nation but also look after their families and the community,” she said before giving away goodies to 40 children of civil servants in conjunctio­n with Maksak Christmas Day 2016 welfare programme held at Serian Community Hall here yesterday.

The event was organised by Maksak Women Serian Branch .

“I hope that our contributi­on will bring cheers to the children and their families in ushering the festive season of Christmas,” Saptuyah said.

Earlier Maksak Women Serian Branch Chairman Francesca Bawing Bilong said the programme enabled the members to be more active to help those who were less fortunate.

Present were Maksak women committee members Norhayati Mornie, Doreen Yap Guek Ngo,Golmar Daud, Datin Sharifah Aminah Wan Mahmud, Datin Ayu Kartina Abdullah and Datin Fauziah Mardiana Sepawi.
