KUCHING: The students, staff and alumni of Executive College ( EC) captivated its prom night held at Grand Dormani Rajah Court Hotel here recently.

This year’s event, themed, ‘A Night in the Spotlight’ was organised by Executive College Student Council ( ECSC).

The theme was chosen with an underlying message that the event is a night to be seen and to look in one’s best as well as a night of pure entertainment, fun and socialising for everyone at the college.

The event aimed at creating a meaningful and lasting memory for the students to add into their college’s years. It was indeed a great way for students and staff to celebrate together to finish off the year.

The prom night received generous sponsorships from Aldini Marketing, Wellmakes Supplies, Eric Enterprise, Data Print, Asahi Arts, CG Computers, Vickskill Printing, Toshiba Tec, The Washroom Professionals, TEA FM Radio, Global Books Frontier, Teck Kong Trading and Grand Dormani Rajah Court Hotel.

Through the event, the student council had the opportunity to exercise planning, organising, teamwork and communication skills as the members worked together to manage the event.

There were various performances by talented EC students and several sessions of lucky draws. All those who attended were also involved in games prepared by the organising committee.

Ten nominated prom kings and queens showcased themselves in their own creativity and uniqueness to win votes from those who attended. Moreover, six students who dressed admirably were selected during the night as nominees for best- dressed males and females.

Towards the end of the night, Alvin Foo and Karen Lim, both students of Diploma in Quantity Surveying, were announced as Prom King and Prom Queen respectively.

Jordan Yeo from Diploma in Quantity Surveying won the best- dressed male award while Clarissa Tay from Diploma in Quantity Surveying won the bestdressed female award.

The event marked another achievement by the college as everyone who attended enjoyed their time and each other’s company. Fun events such as this will continue to be part of EC’s culture, as the college believes in engaging the students not only in academic but also in other aspects of their lives.
