New Toyota Innova boasts better safety features
KUCHING: The new Toyota Innova returns with safety in mind, featuring improved structural strength and enhanced safety features with a 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection by ASEAN NCAP.
The vehicle also recent ly received a Grand Prix Award ( MPV category) for highest points scored in child occupant protection. The award recognises the vehicle for its crash worthiness performance.
Safety has always been a top priority for Toyota and more so with models such as Innova which is family- oriented, which is equipped with equipments such as Active Safety Systems, Traction Control (TRC) ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ( EBD).
Additionally, up to seven SRS airbags are provided for increased protection in the event of an accident and all variants include an airbag to protect the driver’s knees during frontal collision.
The Innova is also strengthened with high tensile steel in many areas to improve structural strength and enhance safety features.
It has a new design which reflects a premium image especially with its chrome upper grille, headlamp accents and elegant side profile.
Its interior is also enhanced to suit the premium positioning with LED ambient lighting around the ceiling, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob with silver and chrome trim on the 2.0G variant.
Apart from the new-Innova, the improved Toyota Altis returns this year with a Rising Star Recognition Award from ASEAN NCAP with a 5- star rating, partly due to its Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure.
This structure is very rigid to protect the occupants during accident by absorbing and dispersing impact energy (from frontal collisions) through the entire body frame, reducing severe forces on the occupants.
The improved Altis received several changes in its exterior, with a new front and rear bumpers, redesigned grille and all variants now come standard with LED daytime running lights.
In conjunction with the launch of the new Innova and improved Altis, UMT Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd is having a promotion from today ( Dec 17) and tomorrow ( Dec 18).
