Three menus to usher in Chinese New Year at Pullman

KUCHING: Pullman Hotels and Resorts Kuching is promoting three Chinese New Year 2017 menus to usher in the festive occasion at their Nu Er Hong Restaurant.

Their marketing and communicat­ion executive Alan Dexter said on Chinese New Year Eve in 2017, the hotel would only serve two menus: Prosperity Of The Year Golden Phoenix at RM1,388 per table of 10 persons, and the New Year Poon Choi menu at RM1,588 per table of 10 persons.

“However, from the first day of the Chinese New Year 2017 to the last day, the hotel will serve the third menu, Prosperity Happy Reunion, at RM1,188 per table of 10 persons,” he said when met by reporters at the promotiona­l briefing at the hotel’s restaurant Thursday.

“All these festive promotiona­l menus are available for lunch and dinner at the restaurant during those periods.”

Dextersaid­theprosper­itymenu with nine dishes commences with an assorted traditiona­l Yee Sang starter dish or a normal assorted starter ( hot or cold), soup, meat, fish, prawns other sea food like abalone, oysters, sea cucumber and vegetables cooked in different recipes and style that suits all tastes.

“It includes desserts called the Eight Treasures comprising white fungus, apricots, lotus seeds, lily bulb, red dates, dried longan, sea coconut and barley; and the Nu Er Hong signature specialty,” he deliberate­d further on the menu.

Dexter said one of the menus they have this year is New Poon Chai or Chinese Casserole in a basin or big bowl. If the patron opt for this menu, they will get ‘Nu Er Hong’, prosperity salmon and abalone salad as starter, Poon Choi with 20 ingredient­s – mushroom, white radish carrot, broccoli, cabbage, dry bean curd, bean-root, taro, crab claw, dried scallop, fish maw, abalone, sea asparagus, pacific clam, sea prawn, top shell, sea cucumber, roast chicken, roast duck and dried oyster.

In this menu, there are ‘Nu Er Hong’ Specialty cake and Eight Treasures Dessert to end the meal. The hotel has also come up with a New Year Eve 2017 Banquet Table promotion with a menu priced at RM988 to be held in its Ballroom.
