Raja Muda Perlis: Rohingya crisis a violation of peace

KUALA LUMPUR: The Rohingya crisis, which has gained world- attention, is a violation of peace which is detested in Islam, said the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullai­l.

He said the crisis, as well as the pressure on the Muslims in Syria and Palestine, should be addressed wisely so that Islam would not be labelled as promoting terrorism.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also Perlis Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council ( MAIPs) said this during a meeting with the Imam of the Nabawi Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Bari Ath-Thubaity, in Madinah last night, MAIPs said in a media release here yesterday.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was accompanie­d by MAIPs Tithe Management Division, Collection and Distributi­on Unit head, Syed Aisam Syed Idrus Al- Habshee Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said Islam teaches its followers to handle their difference­s and disputes by referring to the Quran and sunnah for guidance.

He said crisis involving the suppressio­n of Muslims should be addressed wisely so that Islam would not continue to be linked to terrorism and militants.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who would also perform the umrah, is accompanie­d by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their children, Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah, Sharifah Farah Adriana and Tuan Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra. — Bernama
