Good Samaritans donate to Christian care home
KUCHING: Home of Peace, a Christian care home at Kota Padawan, received Christmas donations from Good Samaritans recently.
Voluntary social worker Lim Chee Haw represented the Good Samaritans in handing over the donated items to Home of Peace manager Jerome Lim who received it on behalf of the home.
“The Good Samaritans hope it will bring cheer to the home’s residents. Christmas should be a time of cheer which was the reason for the handover to the home,” he added.
Lim also donated to a family living in Engkilili. The donations were collected by relatives of the family in Kuching for them to send to the family.
Among those who donated to the care home and the family in Engkilili are Mr Tan and family (Matang), Mr Chiam and family (BDC), Mr Kho and family (Third Mile), Mr Bong and family (BDC), Stutong Jong Hua Enterprise and Thian Khiuk Fah and family (United States). Lim is doing all this for charity.
“Most of the people who come to me want to donate to the society due to religious obligations, like me. I will look for deserving poor and needy members of society to receive the donation,” he said.
On another matter, Lim said he can help acquire coffins for poor non-Muslim families during times of bereavement. These coffins were purchased with the donations of Good Samaritans. For more information, contact Lim at 082248153 or 016-8070388.
