Christmas happenings at the Old Court House

KUCHING: World Arts Convention has leveraged on the festive mood to showcase the magic of Christmas in this City of Unity.

The magic comes in the form of organised happenings at China House in the Old Court House to share the spirit of Christmas among the Kuching community.

According to organising chairman Peter Pui, this year’s ‘Christmas in the City of Unity’ aims to bring communitie­s together for the festive season while promoting Peace, Harmony and Unity.

World Arts Convention meanwhile is working towards the convergenc­e of Spirit, Peace and Love among Sarawakian­s.

After discussing with its founder Gerald Goh, a consensus was reached to hold a series of activities during each festival to celebrate heritage on a united front. After scouting around the vicinity, it was agreed there was no better venue for such meaningful activities than the Old Court House where Sarawak heritage first take root back in the Brooke Era.

The programme will be launched on Dec 18 by Minister of Local Government Datuk Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian with various activities planned for Dec 17 to Jan 1, 2017.

The public are urged to participat­e in sharing the spirit of Christmas with fellow Sarawakian­s in the name of Unity and Peace. The organiser hopes that the series of events will be held annually to unite communitie­s and uphold Kuching as the City of Unity.
