-

BAU: Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep assures the folk here that he will continue to call for the setup of a technical/vocational school for this district.

He said he had highlighted this matter before but was later informed by the relevant ministry that Sarawak already had sufficient number of such school.

It is the wish of the people in Bau to have a vocational/ technical school here; thus, I will pursue this matter. — Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Tasik Biru assemblyman

Adding on, he viewed the presence of a vocational/technical institution here in the area would accommodate the local school-leavers wishing to take up technical courses.

“It is the wish of the people in Bau to have a vocational/technical school here; thus, I will pursue this matter,” he told reporters yesterday after launching the ‘Family Day 2016 and Bau Got Talent’ run by Bau District Women and Family Development Council at the civic centre here.

Henry also said the construction of the proposed vocational/technical school would depend on the approval and allocation from the federal government.

“It may very well depend on the economy of the country,” he added.

On the proposal to have another secondary school here – a matter that had been raised several times even before the state election this year, Henry said he would check with the relevant authorities. “At the moment, I have yet to receive any feedback from these relevant authorities,” he said.
