128 children with heart aliment in IJN receive Nu Skin Malaysia sponsorship

-

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 128 children, who are heart patients in the National Heart Institute (IJN), today received sponsorships for surgery and treatment costs in a collaboration between IJN Foundation and beauty products company, Nu Skin Malaysia (Nu Skin).

IJN Foundation fundraising chairman Datin Julini Mohd Ali said Nu Skin Malaysia, which became IJN’s corporate partner since 2008, had sponsored about RM1.92 million to finance the cost of surgery and treatment of children with heart ailment.

“The cost of each treatment and surgery is estimated at RM30,000 and Nu Skin has sponsored a portion of this cost while the rest is borne by the IJN Foundation in collaboration with several other corporations.

“Through this treatment and surgery, almost all the children, who are heart patients in IJN have gradually recovered and can undergo daily activities as other children,” she said at the Nu Skin Malaysia-IJN Foundation Wish List Project 2016 event here.

The objective of the collaboration between Nu Skin and Yayasan IJN is to help finance the cost of treatment and surgery of children suffering from heart ailment, she said.

Julini said the sponsorship contribution was from Nu Skin distributors, who had pledged to channel a certain percentage from their proceeds to the patients’ aid fund.

She said the Wish List Project was part of the corporate social responsibility programme of Nu Skin Malaysia with the cooperation of IJN Foundation. — Bernama
