MSU Foundation – A ticket to the world of teaching
THE Management & Science University (MSU) offers quality preparatory programme for SPM/SPMV leavers for direct entry to their preferred MSU undergraduate courses.
The programme will assist them to develop their language, study skills, cultural awareness and subject-specific knowledge, ensuring that students are well prepared for continuation in their bachelor degree studies.
Several interesting choices of disciplines await Foundation students at MSU. These disciplines are offered after taking into account the one year duration that will be spent and the student’s state of preparedness before they begin the first year bachelor degree studies.
A student with a keen interest in the world of teaching especially Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL), the Foundation in TESL at MSU is a good option to start with. This programme aims to provide student with solid grounding in the English Language and the basics of education theory and practice.
It’s comprises of core language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening within the scopes of grammar, literature, education, and culture. Upon completion of the course, successful candidates can proceed to Bachelor of Education (Hons) – (TESL) or Bachelor in Counseling and Guidance (Hons) through the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) at MSU or they can also opt to further their studies at any other related courses such as English Studies, Linguistics, English Literature and Psychology.
The Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) at MSU offers seven areas of spesialisation – Engineering & Technology, Science Biology/Health Science, Information Technology, Law, Business, Visual Art and TESL.
