Felicity paid more for role in ‘Rogue One’ than castmates

-

FELICITY Jones was paid significantly more for her role in ‘ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ than her castmates.

The 33- year- old actress was reportedly able to negotiate a seven- figure upfront sum to play Rebel fighter Jyn Erso after being nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role in ‘ The Theory of Everything’, and the figure is considerably higher than the ‘mid- six fi gures’ paycheques of her co- stars, including Diego Luna and Ben Mendehlsohn.

A source told the Hollywood Reporter: “She knows her worth.”

While Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has previously insisted there won’t be a sequel to ‘ Rogue One’, sources told the magazine Felicity has the option for one sequel written into the contract, though it is unclear how that would be used. It is possible the actress could appear in a stand- alone story about another character from the universe in the future.

However, Felicity herself has previously admitted she felt a ‘ Rogue One’ sequel was a possibility. Speaking before the idea was dismissed by Lucasfi lm, the actress said: “It’s set up for one. I mean, there’s a number in the title.” Felicity previously revealed she had sought inspiration for her character in the movie from Beyonce.

She explained: “I think she’s someone who has incredible power and is devoted to what she does, but she also seems like a very nice person. I think that’s very important to emulate ...

“Particularly when I’m doing these scenes, I get really into it. When I’d get home, I wouldn’t even realise. I think the adrenaline is pumping around your body so much. Then you get home and you’re suddenly like, ‘Wow, I’ve got quite a few bruises going on here.’”
