‘ATM monitors closely spate of terrorist attacks abroad’
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) is closely monitoring threats and methods used in carrying out terrorist attacks in Jordan, Turkey and Germany.
Its chief, Gen Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor said the Armed Forces was always ready and had its own method in dealing with terrorist attacks and would not take any threat lightly.
“What has happened in Jordan, Turkey and Germany, we do not take them lightly, and we constantly monitor and are on high alert assessing the current situation abroad.
“This preparation can help reduce the probability of terrorist attacks and we still use the same method to deal with terrorist cases, and all levels have taken appropriate action,” he told reporters at a press conference after officiating the Armed Forces Defence College 36/16 Diploma presentation ceremony here yesterday.
He said standby alerts (to face the terrorist threat) had been issued to prevent such attacks from happening here.
