KUCHING: SUPP Pending branch helped over 30 individuals to update or register for the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) during a halfday session in Bintawa here yesterday.

So far, he said, his team had been to Kenyalang Park twice and once in Sg Apong. More than 200 people attended each of these sessions, he said.

The final session would be at the Kenyalang Wet Market this Dec 31, from 7.30am to 11am.

“Dec 31 is the deadline to register for BR1M for next year’s distribution.”

Chong acknowledged that some applicants were not given the full amount or did not receive the aid this year for several reasons.

“We have, for instance, come across a couple of cases where single parents did not update their details. As such, they will be given the BR1M for single people, which is RM450. The amount for poor households is RM1,200.”

For those whose applications failed, Chong said his team would help them to appeal, but for genuine cases only.

BR1M will be paid out in February, June and August next year.

Eligible applicants who are single and with an income of RM2,000 and below will be given RM450, while those with household income of between RM3,001 and RM4,000 will receive RM900. Those with household income is RM3,000 and below will get RM1,200.
