Waterfront Hotel for Chinese family reunions – with a view of old Kuching

KUCHING: The artrageous Waterfront Hotel is serving a tasty selection of Chinese dishes for family reunions to usher in the Year of the Rooster.

The Reunion Dinner sets are menu A for a table of five (5) is priced at RM699 nett and table of 10 at RM999 nett, or menu B for a table of five (5) at RM999 nett and table of 10 at RM1,499 nett. All prices are inclusive of Goods and Service Tax (GST).

Both sets offer a total of eight dishes, each crafted with unique, heartening flavours to mark the start of a year filled with luck and prosperity. The soup dish is customizab­le for both sets according to customer preference. Savour dishes of poultry, fish, prawn and vegetables with your family and top it all off with a sweet treat at the end with a dessert dish.

They are available on Chinese New Year’s Eve (Jan 27) and Chap Goh Meh (Feb 6) at Level 4 Ranyai Ballroom starting 6.30 pm.

The set Menu A package features the Fortune Platter (Fatt Choy Yu Shang featuring prosperous salmon), Golden Melting Pots with two selection (braised shark’s fin soup with treasure of the sea & golden mushroom or double boiled kampung chicken soup with fish maw, dried scallop and ginseng), Dancing Phoenix (claypot braised whole chicken with Chinese herbs).

Dragon Dance (steamed grouper fish in ‘Traditiona­l’ style), Blessed Happiness (special-cooked prawn ball with butter milk and Japanese Ebiko, sprinkled with crispy shredded fish in golden basket).

Golden Blossom (combinatio­n of mixed mushroom in beancurd skin with broccoli, fish maw and black moss in abalone sauce), Good Luck (Hong Kong style glutinous rice with mini abalone, BBQ meat, black mushrooms and dried shrimp in lotus leaf) and Red Lantern (chilled cream of coconut milk with red bean puree and jelly).

The set Menu package consists of Luxury Platter (Fatt Choy Yu Shang featuring golden treasure abalone), Fortune is Shining also comes in two selection (braised shark’s fin soup with dried scallop, crab meat, fish may and fresh mushroom or double boiled kampung chicken soup with fish maw, dried scallop and ginseng).

Jade Emperor (steamed white pomfret in premium chicken essence and garlic ginger crisps), Lucky 8 (braised eight treasures duck with fresh mushroom and vegetable), Gong Xi Fa Chai Two Flavours Prawns (wok-fried deep sea prawn with fresh huai sam herbs and special-cooked prawn ball with butter milk sauce served in golden basket), Golden Blossom and CNY Special Double Happiness (chilled cream of coconut milk with yam puree and strawberry pudding and assorted mini pastry fruits cream tart).

Both set dinner packages come with homemade peanut with sesame seed, compliment­ary Mandarin orange, as well as free flow of soft drink and Chinese tea.
