Wish-come-true at Pullman for children from Miri Methodist Home

MIRI: Twenty children from Miri Methodist Children’s Home (MMCH) were treated to a pre-Christmas Hi-Tea at Pullman Miri Waterfront, in conjunctio­n with Interhill’s Christmas Wish Tree project which was launched in early November.

Led by executive chef Brian Chong and pastry chef Muhamad Wildan from Pullman Miri Waterfront, the children were taught pizzamakin­g during a Christmas cookies session.

“We would like to thank everyone who has contribute­d to this project to make this Christmas a memorable one for the children from Miri Methodist Children’s Home,” general manager of Pullman Miri Waterfront Michael Weiss remarked.

He added that the Christmas Wish Tree which was placed at the hotel lobby for a period of one month has raised a total of RM2,077 from staff as well as from public donation.

Weiss also mentioned that Interhill and Pullman will continue to embark in such CSR programmes for all festive periods for years ahead.

Chief operating officer (COO) of Interhill Group of Companies (hospitalit­y division), Eric Tan who attended the charity do added that Interhill as well as Pullman Miri Waterfront were honoured to celebrate this joyful and meaningful event with Methodist Children’s Home in conjunctio­n with Christmas and New Year’s season.

“Of course, we are thankful with the overwhelmi­ngly positive support and response by the hotel guests as well as the public in contributi­ng to Pullman’s first ever wish tree project,” Tan said.

Thereafter, Tan and Weiss presented Christmas gifts to the children. The gifts were bought using the money raised by the project and the balance of the fund given in cash to MMCH.

Also present at the high tea were Pullman’s Howard Chai the operations manager and marketing communicat­ion manager Lian Pasan as well as staff of Miri Methodist Children’s Home, superinten­dent Vivian Lo, caretaker Hwang Yen Chin and driver Ting Ming Khong.
