Dedication brings joy and passion, says Dennis
MIRI: Dedication to what we love, be it work or other things, and filling our world with family, friends and community will bring passion and joy to ourselves and people around us.
This advice came from Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau when speaking at the Christmas dinner organised by the Miri branch of Sarawak Society of the Disabled, which was held at its centre in Piasau camp on Monday.
“You are really special people, despite your shortcomings you don’t depend on others to create your happiness, like tonight’s dinner,” Dennis told members of the society who attended the dinner.
Among those present were its chairman Remo Rai and councillor Dominic Nyurang.
Dennis said he made it a point to attend the dinner despite receiving invitations to other events in order to celebrate Christmas with them.
“I am very pleased tonight because this event is also attended by friends from the Muslim community and other races, which reflects true harmony among us in Sarawak,” he said.
The dinner was attended not only by members of Sarawak Society of the Disabled, Miri branch, but also by their families and friends and heads of some government departments.
Dennis also gave some words of encouragement to the handicapped.
“God has a plan for everyone, you are special in God’s eyes despite your limitations and always keep a positive mind and mental attitude,” he said, while reminding them of the power of prayer.
Dennis announced an MRP grant of RM7,000 for the society.
